About 150 high school students attended a workshop on environmental issues, and hundreds of pictures about Borneo biodiversity and its beauty were displayed during two-days photo exhibition to hail Earth Day celebration on 22 May 2009 in Puruk Cahu, Murung Raya District, Central Kalimantan.
Many visitors moved by how the regular creatures and piece of their everyday life can be seen differently and appeared as wonders in the still images. A growing pride for Heart of Borneo is the aim of this event. Those wonder to be protected and used in a way that share place for next generations to take part.
WWF-Indonesia and the government of Murung Raya District who facilitated this event are hopeful that along with the Environmental Education Training for teachers conducted in other place in Murung Raya (by WWF-Indonesia), will eventually form a great magnification for building stronger awareness for public in Murung Raya District on environment and Heart of Borneo in particular.
